Google’s Top Searches for 2006

Google has recently released the top filtered user search terms of 2006. You may ask why are they filtered, well there is a simple answer to that. Otherwise they would all be sex related search terms! I’m sure everyone at Google gets a good laugh at those ones :) . Well without further adieu, here are Google’s top search terms of 2006 referenced from Zeitgeist 2006:

  2. myspace
  3. world cup
  4. metacafe
  5. radioblog
  6. wikipedia
  7. video
  8. rebelde
  9. mininova
  10. wiki

Well it’s very apparent what the 2006 Internet trends were. With searches like video, bebo, myspace, and mininova, social networking and torrents were a hit! 2006 will always be remembered by myspace, youtube, and the flourishing web 2.0 startups that were bought by Google, Yahoo and Microsoft. But lest we forget the top Google search terms of 2005:
